The Irish Terrier is a very healthy breed and is not prone to any major hereditary disorders.

The Irish Terrier stands 18-19 inches tall and weighs 25-27 lbs.

Irish Terriers were bred for active work, so they need regular excercise. A daily brisk walk is good.

The coat of an Irish Terrier is easy to groom and rarely sheds. Brush regularly  and hand strip twice a year. The more they are brushed and combed the better they will look.
